This sculpture is part of the series ‘Soul of Technology’.
Within this series of sculptures, which I still work on, I express how humans relate to the (digital) techniques he develops and coexists with. In this research I ask the question to what extent man depends on his own manufactured world and in how man maintains his own naturalness in it.
Fragments of what I have seen during my expeditions to abandoned and dilapidated villages, are reflected in the work.
I wrote a booklet about this theme, supplemented with images of my own work, but also of other artists that inspire me. The booklet ‘Ziel van de techniek’ (‘Soul of Technology’) is for sale and can be ordered for €20, – here. Here is a video of the booklet to view.
